Read Proverbs 1:1 through 3:35
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).
This verse does not prohibit thinking, but it does make a statement about its limits. No matter how smart a person is, he cannot judge every matter from all points of view. In times of distress, thinking can become narrowly focused. If one’s options are seen as unfavorable, it can increase anxiety.
Trust in the Lord provides two benefits. It gives a place to cast that anxiety, and it opens the mind to some different perspectives.
God sees things differently than you do. He can see things from multiple points of view at the same time. His wisdom is exercised in the breadth of His perspectives. Some things are hidden from you right now, because of limits in human understanding. God’s vision is broader. His understanding is deeper.
Acknowledging God in every way is allowing Him into all life’s situations. His presence brings light into all of its dilemmas, allowing you to see things you have not seen yet.
Thought for Today: Trust in the Lord to broaden your perspective.
